I feel like Canada (used to).

For years, visiting Canada or Europe was great because the exchange rate gave the dollar such power.

Unfortunately, the dollar has continued its downward spiral. The difficulty is that a Euro isn't one dollar, it is $1.36. Therfore, your 2E coffee is actually $2.82. That doesn't sound too bad, but when you take that $.86 that you aren't thinking about and multiply it over a month, things can add up.

These are the numbers from my last trek to the cash machine, where I withdrew 240E:

240.00 EUR = 328.645 USD
1 EUR = 1.36935 USD
1 USD = 0.730272 EUR

The dollar is worth less than 3/4 of a Euro. For most of my childhood, that is what the Canadian dollar was worth against ours. I now understand how they felt. It sucks.
